A newly planted maple tree on West White Street is part of the work by City of Clinton crews to begin the fall planting of 25 new trees along the boulevard areas of the city. The planting was done by hand this year to allow workers to avoid utility and fiber optic cable lines. The Clinton Tree Commission recommends locations and species of trees after consultation with homeowners on the siting of new trees. The fall planting campaign is part of the city’s goal to maintain and expand urban forestry throughout the community.
