The annual Apple ‘n Pork Festival celebrates harvest time in Clinton, held the last weekend of September on the grounds of the C.H. Moore Homestead. Sample mouth-watering apple and pork treats – from pork chili, BBQ ribs and pig ears to apple fritters, taffy apples, cider and, of course, apple pie! There’s also live entertainment, hundreds of crafters, and a flea market with over 300 vendors and 100,000 in attendance.
The C.H. Moore Homestead offers exciting events April through December, including kite-flying, an antique quilts display and antique auto show, ice cream socials, Victorian Christmas tea and candlelight tours, special displays and more.
Ranked as one of the top ten haunted houses in Illinois, the Clinton Chamber hosts Terror on Washington Street. Witches, ghosts, and goblins take over different locations throughout town each year. Junior and senior high school thespians and other volunteers help provide the thrills for some 6,000 visitors from around the state annually.
